Joseph Myers was born on January 30, 1831 in Thibodeaux, Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, USA. His parents were Pierre Mire and Rosalie Gautreaux. ^[1]He married Petronille Angeline Breau. Note: he signed his name Theodule Mirre.^[2] Together they had 2 children:

1. Sylvester Myers^[3]
2. Pierre Mire

She married (2) Julian Perez on May 09, 1871. ^[4]

In the 1860 census, Theodule Mier (age 29), farmer, lived with his wife, Angelina (age 19) their son Oleus (age 1). They lived with Theodule's widowed mother, Mrs. Neuville Mire (age 52, head of household, in Atta Kapas Canal, Assumption, Louisiana, United States. Neither Theodule nor his mother could read or write.[7]

He died before May 1871 when his widow remarried.
