Many online trees place his birth around 1265 and this date has been added to this profile in order to be able to place him in a historical timeline and give the profile pre-1500 protection. Andersson-4409 07:36, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
Hemming's first name was not Henning. His children are consistently named Hemmingsson or Hemmingsdotter, and when occurring in contemporary documents he is also referred to as Hemming. There is one occasion in SDHK 3723 where the scribe has made the mistake (calling him Henning), but he's called Hemming further up in the same document.
His patronymic is not known. Tanne is possibly a byname since he is known as Hemming Tanne in some documents.
The often occurring heraldic device showing a "Tannenbaum" - a fir tree - on a red field is entirely made up. No such thing ever existed. There is no evidence for the actual heraldic device used by Hemming.[1]
