Born Robert Anderson Nance in 1870 to William Emsley Nance and Cynthia D. Williams of Davidson County, North Carolina. He married Nancy Fannie Snider in 1891. He died 1941 and is buried in Nance Cemetery, Churchland, Davidson County, North Carolina.[1]
