James Marshall Nance born 1874 to William Emsley Nance and Cynthia D. Williams in Davidson County, North Carolina.

Residence 1880: Tyro Township, Davidson County, North Carolina as son Jim Nance (5) in household of W E Nance (33) with wife Cintha Nance (42), son Robert A Nance (10), son John L Nance (8), son William A Nance (6), Ida L Nance (4) daughter Carry L Nance (1) with Susan Williams (76, Cynthia's mother) and Margret Lanur (25, probably Lanier - "other").[1]

1918, Sept 12 WW I - record of draft registration for James Marshall Nance of Lexington, in Davidson County, North Carolina. Described as age 43, farmer, nearest relative Mrs. Mary S Nance, of medium height and medium build with gray eyes and dark hair.[3]

Died 1953, Butner, Granville County, North Carolina[4] and is buried in Sandy Creek Cemetery, Tyro, Davidson County, North Carolina [5]
