When Roscoe Conklin Nance was born on 13 August 1880, in Latham, Butler, Kansas, his father, William Finis Nance, was 25 and his mother, Amelia Tryplenia Sherar, was 25. He married Bessie L. Harwick on 6 January 1901, in Wood Township, Garfield, Oklahoma. They were the parents of at least 1 son and 3 daughters. He lived in West Walnut Township, Canadian, Oklahoma for about 10 years and Union Township, Butler, Kansas in 1940. He died on 30 January 1956, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, at the age of 75, and was buried in Del City, Oklahoma, Oklahoma.
