Naming Note - Records before arriving in Australia in 1857 gave John's name as 'John NEKERVIS' or 'John Nikervis'. Records from 1857 to before 1903 gave his name as 'John Nankervis'. From 1903, he used the name 'John Warren Nankervis'. This may have been done to differentiate himself from son 'John Nankervis'. They were both Miners and lived at the same address.
Profile Duplication - Nankervis-387 was a mixture of two John Nekervis/Nankervis people.
Nekervis-83 arrived in Melbourne, Victoria in June 1857, married Mary Wearn Nankervis and worked as a Miner in Daylesford, Victoria.
Nekerwise-44 arrived in Adelaide, South Australia with his wife Rebecca and daughter Mary in 1853.
The links with the South Australian John have been removed.
But, with an INCORRECT LNAB, I believe Nankervis-387 should be DELETED as Nekervis-83 has the correct LNAB. Information - including the Obituary - has been coped from Nankervis-387. (Dingle-206)
John NEKERVIS, son of John Nekervis & Nanny, was baptised on 2 February 1840 in Saint Just IN Penwith, Cornwall, England. [1]

Obituary: Daylesford Advocate, Yandoit, Glenlyon and Eganstown Chronicle (Vic: 1914-1918) Friday 14 September 1917 - THE LATE MR JOHN NANKERVIS.— The remains of the late Mr John Nankervis, of Stanley Street South, who passed away on Sunday morning early, at the age of 71 years, were interred in the Daylesford Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon when there was a very large following of sorrowful friends. The Rev. Thomas Collins, of the local Methodist Church, assisted by Adjutant Wilkinson, of the local Salvation Army Corps, conducted service at the house and at the grave. The Rechabite burial service was read by Bro. A. Muxworthy, of the Enterprise Tent. Mr F. Verey supervised the mortuary arrangements. The coffin was carried by Messrs John, Andrew, William, Albert, Richard, Stephen and Joseph, Nankervis (sons of deceased), and the cord-bearers were Messrs Thomas Reynolds, W. Champion, W. Edwards (relatives of the deceased), W. Gilbert, J. Sampson, A. Muxworthy, G. Bailey and W. Moffatt. Mr Nankervis leaves a wife and grown-up family to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. Mr Nankervis was a man of sterling worth and probity and was greatly respected by all who knew him. He was one of the pioneers of the district and had followed mining pursuits until ill-health overtook him. His demise is deeply deplored by a wide circle of friends who will earnestly sympathise with the bereaved relatives. The sorrowing family consists of Mrs Nankervis and eight sons and two daughters. The sons are Messrs John, Andrew, Joseph and William Nankervis, all of Melbourne, and Messrs Richard, Albert and Stephen Nankervis, of Geelong, and Mr Charles Nankervis, of West Australia. The daughters are Mrs Reynolds, of Werribee, and Miss Nankervis, of Daylesford.[9]

John Warren Nankervis arrived on the ship 'Red Jacket' in Melbourne in June 1857 at the age of 17. I do not think he is the father of Thomas Adams Nankervis (record shows he was born in South Australia - NOT in Richmond, Vic) and William George Nankervis (born in South Australia). In addition, I do not think he married Sophia Adams or went to South Australia. She may have married a different John Nankervis.
Note - Nankervis-662 is a Match for this Nankervis-387. However, I would like to sort out the differences before we Merge the two Profiles.
