Samuel Nankivell was born in 1862 in Mary Tavy, Devon, England, son of James Nankivell (1828 - 1887) and Mary Ann (Floyd) Nankivell (~1832 - 1901) ^[1].

In the 1871 census Samuel (age 8), Scholar, was the son of James Nankevill in Millom, Cumberland, England.^[2]

Samuel (~18) married Elizabeth Boarse (~15) (1865 - 1925) in Jun 1881 in Bootle, Cumberland, England^[3]. Their children were:
