DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Katherine by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Katherine:
I will do what I can, make the changes and the exciting part about this record Rodney, Frances & Sister Elizabeth were both alive in 1783. We have extended their lives.. Also we found a Chancery court record that their Father Capt Robert Napier was a live in 1753. Nice meeting You. I am a descendant of Robert Napier Jr.
Posted these images on Katherine Napier. what is interesting is that in the 1730s and early 1740s , Katherine Napier gave her sister Elizabeth Napier a slave/s.. This was to remain with Elizabeth Napier all of her life while she maintained Her sister Katherine Napier. Bottom line, Katherine Napier never married , and was not married to George Brock. Frances Anderson is on record here saying Elizabeth Napier Frazier kept Katherine Napier till Katherine died. I hope this clears up the Katherine Napier marriage to George Brock. It really is plain to see, Katherine did not marry George Brock. George married a Katherine but it was not Katherine Napier.
I understand the problem. I believe there was only one Katherine at this time period. The daughter of Robert Napier & Mary Perrin.. I checked the other children, and no grandkids were named Katherine or Catherine. I think the problem started when some Brock researchers saw Patrick Napier being a witness to some of George Brocks deeds and things, so they assumed George married Patrick Napier's sister who was named Katherine. Only two things here, She either married Him and the Chancery Court record never addressed her as Katherine Brock, which I doubt because the other Sisters were named Frances Woodson and Elizabeth Frazier, so they were using married names. Or They were never married and George Brock married some other Katherine. If there is another Katherine Napier, she is unknown.
How to fix this? This now shows 3 children for her, with 2 of those same name. I saw (somewhere) that George Brock is the same as Frederick Brock, husband of Kathryn.
Also, Maybe Kathryn is the granddaughter of Robert Napier?... Daughter of Booth or Robert Jr? ...Katherine and Kathryn or two separate persons, but not sisters..
Katherine Napier does not appear to be the wife of George Brock. She is listed in a Chancery Court Record from the 1780's and they listed Her as Catherine Napier , likely she had epilepsy. They questioned weather she had a right to give a slave over to her Sister, but two of her sisters , Elizabeth and Frances, stated she was fine most of the time. But the Mr Fitzpatrick stated she was out of her mind and had fits. I am not sure she would have been married in those days because it was probably not that understood in those times. Not one time did they refer Her to as Catherine Brock. She apparently died ca 1763. This court record was from the 1783 in Fluvanna County, Virginia.
Napier-1504 and Napier-456 appear to represent the same person because: these profiles appear to represent the same person and should be merged. While the one cites Christ Church Parish records, the other cites St Peter's Parish - and St Peter's Parish register is online - Katherine's entry, as daughter of Robert Napier & his wife Mary, born "8br ye 12th 1700" is on page 25 (but "8br" in 1700 would be October, not the modern 8th month of August, nor September, as given in Robert's profile and in Napier-456). Since her siblings' baptism records are on the same page, I think this confirms these profiles are for the same person. I'd be interested to see a transcription or image of the Christ Church parish record though!
Napier-1650 and Napier-456 do not represent the same person because: This does not appear to me as the same person. There is large differences between birth dates and death dates. I think this is 2 separate persons and having, as it appears, the same father is a mistake.
I checked my personal tree and do not have a husband listed for (K)Catherine. Rodney
I agree!! Now, to fix it all.
Are you able to do this?
Also, just FYI, you may already be aware.... Frances Napier Woodson is my direct ancestor in all of this.

Just thoughts, no proofs...
Anyone????
Also, if merge Katherine and Kathryn how does that affect the 2 Joseph's. They have different info.
(also fyi - I couldn't find a record of Katherine's marriage in the St Peter's register.)
I agree, work needs to be done, but not a merge.
Thank you for bringing this up!
