Micheal was born about 1815 in Roane County, Tennessee to Frederick Narramore and Nancy Upchurch. He married Jane Laferry. When Sequatchie County was forming away from Bledsoe County, around 1853 he served as a commissioner for the district he lived in and they would meet roughly every quarter. During the Civil War Michael fought for the Union. He fought in the 6th Regiment, Tennessee Mounted Infantry, Company E. His rank was Private. Date of Organization was Oct 26, 1864. This regiment was organized in Hamilton county, Oct. 24, 1864. It was employed for some time by Gen. Steadman in scouting the Cumberland Mountains in Tennessee and northern Georgia after the guerrilla bands which infested that region, and it had several severe engagements with the bushwhackers. In March ,1865, the regiment was turned over to the commander of the department, and was soon afterward placed under Gen. Judah, commanding at Decatur, Georgia, where it continued its scouting until the surrender of the Confederate army. It was then ordered to Resaca, Georgia. On June 18, 1865, it was ordered to Nashville and on the 30th of that month was mustered out. Source: The Union Army, vol. 4, pgs. 389 Muster Date was June 30 1865. He returned to Sequatchie valley to continue life with his wife and children. After his wife Nancy died, records show he remarried in Feb. 1880. He passed away about 1899 and there is no records that indicate were he is buried.
