Catherine Nash was born in Warwickshire, England.

Catherine Nash was born to Richard and Mercy Nash (née Parkinson) in Warwickshire in 1867,^[1] and christened in Stratford upon Avon on 21 July.^[2]

On 7 May 1892, Catherine married Samuel Groves at the Holy Trinity church in Stratford on Avon,^[3] five years younger than her husband, and went on to have several children by him.
