Rilla Eugenia Nash was born on February 17, 1872 in Gwinnett County, Georgia. She was the daughter of William R. Nash and Fannie Chamblee. Rilla married James Hayes on March 19, 1893 in Dekalb County, Georgia. She and James had at least 7 children.  Rilla Eugenia Hayes died on January 4, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia.
