Biography

Joseph Nash married Eliza Ballard at Goolwa, South Australia on 1 June 1863.^[1][2][3] They had the following children:

3. Gertrude Sarah Nash, born 1867 at Encounter Bay^[6]

6. Eliza Nash, born 1872 at Encounter Bay^[9]
7. Alice Maud Nash, born 1874 at Encounter Bay^[10]

9. Herbert John Nash, born 1878 at Encounter Bay^[12]

His wife Eliza died in Mildura on 2 August 1892.^[14]

Joseph Nash remarried to Agnes Alice Miller in Victoria during 1895, probably around Mildura.^[15] They had the following children:

2. Florence Josephine Nash, born 1898 at Mildura^[17]

Joseph was well known on the rivers as captain and owner of the steamer Cato when the family was residing at Goolwa.

Afterwards he was for a time in business in North Adelaide before he moved to Mildura in 1890 and established a baking and grocery business.

Joseph died aged 64 in Mildura, Victoria on 21 April 1902.^{[18][19][20][21][22]}
