it's annual check-in time 2023. If you still wish to remain a member of the Germany Project, please reply to this post, by stating this intention. If we don’t hear from you in the next 30 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended ... you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help, with researching your German ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with Germany in order for knowledgeable people to see them.
If you wish to remain a member, we would like to learn more about your perception of the Germany Project in order to achieve a future development according to our members needs and wishes. For this, we created a survey, which we kindly ask you to fill-in.
In case you want to communicate, discuss and receive help about WikiTree in German, you might want to check out the WikiTree category at Compgen’s Discourse as well as the German Discord server Ahnenforschung.
Of course there’s still the official WikiTree Discord server, where we usually talk English. Feel free to learn more about Discord and the server at Help:Discord.
It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.
Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. In your response, we welcome any feedback you may want to give on the project (what you like about it, what you’d like to see us do, what we could change, etc.)
If you ever have any questions, please ask. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Thank you for contributing to the February 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your personal research to help others.
I've added my grandmother Alvina as per your request, as well as my grandfather, her daughter (my mom), and myself. I see you live in Vancouver, but are you from the Gretna/Altona area Penners?
My mom has done some extensive genealogy research within our family. I can connect you with her if you like.
The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

Hi kathryn. I worked very hard looking up how to do references, etc. Why was my profile on Ida Marguerite MIlls erased? Mills 3144. I know that you have many of the people in Souteastern, New Brunswick. It is obvious that if I work all day on how to do a profile, check my references, check how to do referencing, and come back and see nothing, I cannot work on this program.
Thank you for your participation in October 2020’s Source-a-thon. Your contributions helped us to clear over 57,000 profiles that needed sourcing. This makes our Shared Tree all that much better.
On behalf of the Germany Project, I am currently undergoing our member check-in's and wanted to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the full list. I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!
We use Google groups for project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup, please submit a join request and we will get that approved as quickly as possible. We also ask that you check your follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (GERMANY) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

Thanks for all the work you accomplished during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree. You have every right to be pleased with your efforts!
I would politely suggest it good practice to take the time to visually inspect grave stone images on FindAGrave before accepting these database suggestions as corrections.
Thanks so very much for your participation in the spring Clean-a-thon! Every suggestion you cleared (over 500!) made our Tree that much better. The WikiTree community appreciates YOU!
The Global Cemeteries Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Cemetery Teams? If not, is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!
We use Google Groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (CEMETERIES) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.
Last, but not least, we would like to thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and let you konw that any ideas or suggestions for improvement you may have for the Global Cemeteries Project would greatly appreciated!
Oh yes. Still active. In fact, this is what I do with most of my days. I have been a part of the BC team for a while. I work on uploading the photos that I have taken at Mountain View Cemetery, in Vancouver, BC. Peggy knows me well. Currently, I am working on uploading photos from Feb 2019. I have a lot to do. I also have an obsession with finding families and linking them all, so that is why I'm only on February's batch of photos. I also get side tracked to Notables along the way and have signed up for the Canada team in this month's spring clean up.
I usually get a 1000 people a month added to the system, but not necessarily linked. It is too bad there is no 2000 or more badge but whatever, it is not about numbers. :)
I am aware of the Google group but as there are so many chats etc, I sometimes forget to use it correctly.
Thanks for touching base.
Kathryn
Hi Kathryn! I've created the parents for John Lewis Frank (unconnected) however the profile is locked. They are Henry Lewis Frank and Mattie Orwig. Everything matches up in the records - can we proceed with the connection? Many thanks!
