Erdmann Nass was the third son of 9 children born to Gottfried Nass & Eupherosene Lobbs. He was born on 17 January 1822 in Sellnowo, Graudenz, West Prussia, Prussia, Germany. Today this village is in the Polish Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship.

On 11 July 1850 he married Julianna Schreiber Fritz in Graudenz, Westpreußen, Preußen, Deutschland. [1] They had one son: Adolph Carl Nass, born 14 Dec. 1851. Juliana passed away shortly after the birth and Erdman Nass remarried to Maria Reddemann, 1828–1867, about 1852/1853. They had 4 sons & 4 daughters between 1853 and 1866. Unfortunately at least 5 of these children died before when their mother passed away on 16 September 1867 in Graudenz, Graudenz, Westpreußen, Preußen, Deutschland. [2]

Erdman Nass married a third time on 2 July 1868 to Pauline Amalie Schwarz, born in 1848. As before they married in Graudenz, West Prussia, Prussia (now in Poland). He and Pauline had 2 sons & 3 daughters between 1871 and 11 May 1883, when their youngest son: Erich Rudolf Nass (1883-1977) was born.

Alas, Erdman Nass barely got to know his youngest son who would carry on the family name as he also passed away at 64 years old on 16 September 1886 in Graudenz, Graudenz, Westpreußen, Preußen, Deutschland. [3]
