Romain was born around 1838. He was the son of Amable Nault and Josette Lagimodière. (Note: The 1870 Manitoba census has Romain's father's name marked as Amable Nault. Every census gives a year around 1838-1840, his scrip application is the only time 1849 is given.)[1]
Romain died in 1917.[3] He was buried at Saint Pierre-Jolys Roman Catholic Old Cemetery, in Saint-Pierre-Jolys, Manitoba.[4]
