Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 10, in the King Hill Baptist Church, St. Joseph, for Elon A. Nauman, 89, who died Friday, march 7, in a St. Joseph hospital. Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Oregon, Mo.

Mr. Nauman, the son of Jacob Rasmus Nauman and Sarah Elizabeth Huffman Nauman, was born May 28, 1900 in the Craig community, and lived most of his life in St. Joseph. He had been employed 36 years by the Burlington Railroad before he retired in 1959. He was a member of the King Hill Baptist Church, had been a deacon emeritus, had taught the men's Bible Class there for many years, and was also a member of the Murray Lodge of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lorene Zachman Nauman of Blair Manor Retirement Home, St. joseph; one son, Roger W. Nauman, Kansas City; two daughters, Genevieve Taylor and Melba Finch, both of St. Joseph; three brothers, Robert, John and Raymond Nauman, all of Lawton, Okla; five sisters, Mae Mavity and Rowena Hart, both of Lawton, Marie Zachary, Craig, Majorie Gillis, Mound City; and Josephine Mavity, Corning, Mo.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin daughters; Madeline and Kathleen; six brothers, Bryan, Frank, Earl, Ernest, Gilbert and Bernard; two sisters, Marian and Ruth; two half-sisters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Judy, Craig, Mrs. Stella Long, Luray, Va., and four half-brothers, Will, Tom, Jake and Dr. Oscar Nauman.
