Biography

Daughter of Sarah Guinn Neal (my maternal great grandmother) and William Neal.

I am guessing of location of birth, family lived in Drakes Creek or Drakestown, Madison County, Arkansas. It appears that both my grandmother, Myrtle May Neal Boyd and Emmaline both married men with the last name, Boyd. Unsure of Emmaline's relationship to my grandmother, Myrtle or to Sarah Guinness Neal. Unsure of Emmiline's husband's first name or if unknown husband is related to my grandfather, Fred Boyd. Spelling of Emmailine Mary Neal Boyd and Emma Neal Boyd, and Emmiline Boyd Neal Johnson are all the same. My Grandmother and possibly others obviously did not spell very well, nor consistenlly.

Mother Sarah Guinn Neal of Myrtle Neal Boyd, my paternal grandmother, and Nina Neal Johnson according to my Paternal Aunt Claran Boyd Morlan Wiles. Aunt Claran is pictured in the Neal-Boyd family photo of 1913 and is the oldest child of Fred and Myrtle Neal Boyd.

Mrs. Emmilene Mary Johnson, 85, of Wheeler, died Friday, Oct. 29, in a Fayetteville hospital. Born Sept. 27, 1886, in Madison County, the daughter William and Sarah Neal, she was a Baptist.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Gladys Boyd of Wheeler, Mrs. Marie Wiseman of Cave Springs, Mrs. Leouetta Moore of Yuba City, Calif., and Mrs. Reba Dunn and Mrs. Edna Haley of Granger, Wash.; four sons, Olen Boyd of Yakima, Wash., Vernon Boyd and Gayther Dunlap of Wheeler and Walter Dunlap of Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. Mert Boyd of Portland, Ore.; and 36 grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Moore's Chapel with burial in Wesley Cemetery.
