Christo Nell, known as Kobus Nell, was born in Pretoria in the old Transvaal province in Apartheid South Africa. He was brought up in Pretoria East, and attended local schools there.
Christo studied Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Pretoria from 2008, completing his studies in 2011. He has been employed as a Mechanical Engineer since 2012.
