Daughter of Louis Frank Nelson (b. Småland, Konungariket Sverige) and Hulda Marie Carlson (b. Sweden). Mother of 1 son.


OBITUARY OF AMANDA (NELSON) UPDIKE (Courtesy of grandson Steven A. Updike):

MENLO PARK-- Last rites for Amanda M. Updike, 73, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. from the Crippin and Flynn Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, in Redwood City.

Mrs. Updike, who resided at 864 15th Ave., in Menlo Park, was stricken yesterday and declared dead on arrival at Sequoia Hospital.

A native of Han(n)over Twp, (Cook Co - D.U.) Ill., she had lived for many years in Canada and came here four months ago to reside with a son, Abner Updike.

In addition to her son, she leaves two brothers, Alfred Nelson and Carl Nelson, both of Elgin, Ill., and one sister, Olga Newman, also of Elgin, Ill., a grandson and a granddaughter.

Interment will be at Alta Mesa Cemetery, Palo Alto. - Dale A. Updike [1]
