Donald Owen Nelson

NELSON, Donald Owen Age 74, of Glendale, Oregon passed away Saturday, June 6, 1998 at a local hospital in Roseburg, Oregon. Mr. Nelson was born September 25, 1923 in Coquille, Oregon. Mr. Nelson served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was united in marriage to Betty Hall on August 26, 1967 in Winnemucca, Nevada. Mr. Nelson moved to the Douglas County area 20 years ago from McKenzie, Oregon. He had worked as a logger and was one of the predator controllers in the county. Mr. Nelson was a member of the Hounds Club and was an avid hound hunter. He is survived by his wife, Betty Nelson of Glendale, Oregon; six sons: Ray Nelson of McKenzie, Oregon, Jim Nelson of Wilbur, Oregon, Bill Nelson of Fairview, Oregon, Donald H. Nelson of Vida, Oregon, Bill Briggs of Cottage Grove, Oregon and Ted Briggs of Gold Beach, Oregon; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. No services are being held.
