It is not yet certain when John arrived in Australia. He was here by 1840 when he married Mary Quinn.
(Research):Mary Ann arrived in Sydney on the 8th Sept 1835 on the ship Canton ,with her daughters Eliza,Mary Ann,Ann Lavinia and Asenath. It seems her husband James was already deceased by this time.
The father James appears to have died in England before his spouse and children emigrated on the Canton in 1835. There appears to be several children passed away in England before 1835.
