• James Albert "Bert" Nelson - Stroke of Apoplexy is Fatal to Local Man James Albert (Bert) Nelson, 75, died suddenly this morning at 8 o clock at his home on West McNeil Street, following a stroke of apoplexy. Bert Nelson was born December 27, 1860 in Portland the son of Jonathan and Jane Bell Nelson. December 28, 1881 he was married to Elizabeth Koonts [Kunce], who survives with the following children: John (Eph) Nelson of Portland, Noah Edward of Lakeview, Ohio, and Edith Marquette [Marquart] of Ft. Wayne, and five grand- children. One daughter is deceased. Charles Nelson of Portland is a brother. Two brothers and one daughter are deceased. Funeral from Williamson Funeral Chapel, Monday afternoon at 2 o clock. Rev. J. H. Nall, pastor of Portland U.B. Church
