Wow, THANX, Jamie, for that link to my uncle's passport. That is an amazing find!!! I can't help but wonder how you came upon it.

I think the G2G discussion you mention can help a bit, but the problem is surely much bigger? Of course every bit helps. I expect discussions about this will keep going for a long time.

The fast merge you mention is just our normal merge system which is not fast :)

Giving a rationale also helps spread the word and train people.

Next. Discussions not needed for all rejections. Again, please consider the situation now. You have to give a comment now I believe, in all cases. Only because it is AFTER and there is no responsibility to make it meaningful, normally it is not. But if you mean that for many cases a simple sentence would explain everything then I agree. But I think giving a rationale for an action is important.

Thanks for your thoughtful comments on the policy discussion page Jamie! I'll try to be short with answers. 1. One problem with unmerged matches is that they create new gateways and locks on actions involved with merging. If they were just memos, great. You have to think through the flow charts of what happens AFTER. 2. Who owns them? Not the people who create them and can do something about them. I think they go in a queue connected to the merge proposer only who clearly had no problem in the first place.

Hi Jamie,

Finally getting this done. I’m Natalie, leader of the Categorization Project. Please have a look at the revamped Categorization Project page, specifically about the new team approach. Members will be now be part of the Maintenance Team. Project Liaisons and leaders will be involved in the Vision and Collaboration team. I believe you will be part of collaboration (which isn't a huge amount of work.) Regards, Natalie (thanks for all your help in this!)
