Michael Nemeth married Maria Zwickl on November 23, 1783
It is worthy of mention that all the relatives listed on the first page of the lineage (see attached image) were born in Tadten, married at St. Michael the Archangle Catholic Church in Tadten, and died in Tadten, with the exception of Paul, Katharina, & Michael Nemeth who died in Herndon, Kansas.
The name Nemeth is a Hungarian name, and it means "GERMAN". The name can be pronounced Nemeth without an accent above the letter 'E' which gives it an 'A' sound. (i.e. NA), or as it is in our family with an accent above the 'E' giving it an 'E' sound (i.e. NEE). As you will note by the attached lineage, the name NEMETH was always spelled without an 'I' and with an accent above the 'E' prior to Paul Nemeth's immigration to America in 1879. It can be assumed that Paul Nemeth discovered upon his arrival in America that in the English language we do not use accents above letters, so he simply added an 'I' to the name giving it the same pronunciation.
As far as Paul Niemeth knows, none of our ancestors were from Alsace Lorraine.
