He was probably born in County Down Ireland son of Thomas Nesbitt who was living in Co Down in 1772. William passed away in 1773.
He was married to Mary
In the name of God Amen I William Nesbit of the Town and County of Newcastle upon Delaware shortly intending a voyage to Ireland and well knowing the uncertainty of death and the uncertainty of the hour thereof do think it necessary to settle such worldly Estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life for which purpose I make and declared this my last will and testament
Imprimis If it should please God to call me from this world before my return, I recommend my soul into his hands humbly hoping his acceptance thereof this the intention of his Blessed Son Jesus Christ my ever gracious and beloved Redeemer Item I order and direct all my just debts and funeral Charges to be first satisfied and paid out of my estate by me executors hereinafter named
Item I give and bequeath to my dear father Thomas Nesbit of the County of Down in Ireland (if alive at my decease) the sum of ten pounds Pennsylvania Money
Item I give and bequeath to my son Thomas all my wearing apparel my silver watch silver knee and shoe buckles and silver sleeve Buttons
Item I give and bequeath to my loving wife Mary my said son Thomas and daughter Sarah all the remainder and residue of my Estate whatso ever equally to be divided among them their heirs and assigns forever
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said wife Mary and my friend Alexander Mongomery of the Town and County to be my executors revoking and making all former wills by me hereafter made allowing and confirming this only as my last will and testament – In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this sixteenth day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy two Wm Nesbit [1]
I Mary Nesbitt of Newcastle Hundred and County give and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Ruth the sum of Five pounds to be paid to her by my executrix
I give and bequeath the sum of Ten pounds unto my son Thomas Nesbit
I also give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Nesbit thirteen pounds my grey mare one cow my feather bed and furniture also another feather bed and furniture called her own Bed and all the linen yarn together with all my wearing apparel and household furniture and I do hereby appoint my daughter Sarah Nesbit to be my executrix of this my last will and testament
In testimony where I have hereunder set my Hand and seal this the first day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy-five
