M. B. Nesbit Retired Farmer, Dies Services Held Sat.

Major Braxton Nesbitt, 78, retired farmer and State Highway worker of Georgetown, died Friday in a Florence Nursing home, where he had been a patient for two Weeks. He had been ill for two months. Funeral services Were held Saturday at Bethel Methodist Church. Officiating was the pastor, the Rev. B. F. Jordan. Burial was in the churchyard, directed by Mayer Funeral Home. Mr. Nesbitt was born April 21, 1882. in Lee County and farmed there for a number of years prior to moving to Andrews to farm. He later worked with the State Highway Department until he retired in 1947. Suriving are eight sons, Ernest Nesbitt, Bishopvllle; Weldon Nesbitt, Georgetown; Eugene Nesbitt, Andrews; Robert Nesbitt, Valdosta. Ga.; David O. Nesbitt, Georgetown; Clyde Nesbitt, Fort Rucker, Ala.; Johnny Nesbitt, Charleston. and Francis Nesbitt, Fort Jackson; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence Benton, Charleston: Mrs, Calvin T. Johnson, Andrews. and Mrs. John Martin, Charleston; 42 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Tom Pearce, Sumter.
