Biography
Mary was born in 1855. She was the daughter of Emanuel Ness and Elizabeth Keesey. [1] [2]
She married Cornelius Geesey about 1873 [3]
By the 1900 US Census Mary and Cornelius had eight children, with five surviving to adulthood. [4]
In the 1910 US Census with all the children grown Mary went to work in a cigar factory as a cigar maker. Cornelius died 23 Jun 1900 leaving Mary a widow. She never married anyone else. [5]
In the 1920 Census Mary was living with her daughter Laura and husband Daniel Mitzel. And she was no longer working. [6]
Their are two 1930 US Census. One shows Mary living with one of her younger sons, Titus Cornelius, in Philadelphia. The other census shows Mary still living with her daughter Laura and husband Daniel Mitzel. Mary is listed as a widow and she is no longer working. [7] [8]
In the 1940 US Census Mary is living alone? [9]
She entered into eternal rest in 1932. [10]
