Biography

Christina Neu was born December 24, 1845 in Bavaria, Germany.

The 1880 U.S. Census lists Christina at the age of 35 living with her husband John and four children in Moline, Rock Island County, Illinois where John worked as a blacksmith. Living with them is an 18 year old Louise Koehnck from Germany, a servant.^[1]

In the 1900 U.S. Census, Christina is shown to be 55 years old living in Ward 6 of Moline , Rock Island County, Illinois with John and two adult children, their son Otto at 22 years of age and daughter Louisa at 21.^[2]

The 1910 U.S. Census has Christina listed at 65 years of age with John and 32 year old son Otto living in their own home at 1702 15th Street in Ward 6 of Moline in Rock Island, Illinois where John worked as a machinist in an armory.^[3]

John and Christina's son Edwin died in his home on September 10, 1910 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. He was 36 years old and married to Amelia Schenck.^[4]

Christina (Neu) Schenck died April 5, 1930 in Moline, Illinois and was buried April 9, 1930. Christina was born December 24, 1845 in Bavaria, Germany and was 84 years old at the time of her death.^[5]
