Biography

This profile is part of the Dhronecken, Germany One Place Study.

Michel was born in 1802. He passed away about 1860.

Michel first lived in Pilmeroth; he was a miller and farmer and also took day jobs. In 1825, he married Maria Elisabeth Tatsch in Bernkastel.w

After the birth of his daughter Anna Elisabeth, Michel's wife suffered from a fever that started 2 weeks after giving birth. Maria Elisabeth died in July. The child was brought to a relative in Laufersweiler where she died in December.

After that Michel left Pilmeroth. It's unclear when exactly but in 1853 he is mentioned to be in Büdlichermühle with his son Johann Michael.

He must also have brought his daughter Maria Elisabeth to Büdlich, as she has an illegitimate child born on Büdlicher Mühle in 1852. Michel's grandson Georg, born in 1856 on Büdlicher Mühle, died in 1858 in Dhronecken. Obviously at least a part of the family had moved on to Dhronecken between 1856 and 1858. Michel's son Johann Michael had married a woman whose grandfather had been a miller in Dhronecken, that might have been the reason for their move.

In 1860 Michel lived in Dhronecken and also worked on a mill in Deuselbach.
