Biography

Katherine Neville was baptised on 09 Jan 1612 at St Margarets Westminster, London, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth[1].

In the Nevill Pedigree in the visitation of Berkshire in 1665-1666 she was recorded as Katherine Nevill, eldest daughter of Sir Henry Neville and Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John Smyth of Ostenhanger; and the wife of Sir Thomas 'Lumsford' of Sussex formerly Lieutenant of the Tower of London[2].

On 07 Aug 1649 her husband was granted a pass for the family to go to Virginia[3].

On 11 Jan 1653/1654 an order was made for Sir John Thorowgoood to maintain the three children of Sir Thomas Lunsford who married Katherine Nevill, daughter of Dame Elizabeth, now wife of Sir John Thorowgood. The said children, Elizabeth, Phillipa and Mary Lunsford, were carried away by their parents to Virginia and remained there until their parents' demise. They were then sent back to the parish of St Andrew, Holborn[4].

Catherine Neville was the daughter of Sir Henry Neville of Berkshire. [5]Catherine married Sir Thomas Lunsford, and had at least three children with him.[5]
