Richard Neville was born on 30 May 1615, son of [Sir] Henry Neville and Elizabeth Smythe.[1]
Richard 'Nevell' was baptised on 15 Jun 1615 at Binfield, Berkshire, son of Henry Nevell.[2]
In the Nevill Pedigree in the Visitation of Berkshire in 1665-1666[3] he was recorded as Richard Nevill of Billingbeare esq., eldest son of Sir Henry Neville and Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John Smyth of Ostenhanger.
He married Anne, eldest daughter of Sir John Heydon of Baconthorpe, Norfolk.[1][3]

Richard Neville served with the royalist forces in the Civil War and was at Oxford in 1646, but afterwards compounded for his estates under the articles of surrender.[4]
He died on 07 Oct 1676 and was buried at Waltham St Lawrence, Berkshire.[1]
There is a portrait of Richard Neville by William Dobson from 1643, part of the National Portrait Gallery Collection.[11] As of 2019 it was on loan at the Tate Britain.
