Isabelle was the daughter of Thomas Nevins, a farmer in Callaway County, Missouri. According to the 1850 US Census, she was the sister of Elizabeth, William, and Parilee. She was the wife of Andrew J. Sampson and mother of Hugh T., John, James W., Mary J., Edward L., Jackson B., George P., Elizabeth C., Emma B., and Frances.
Note: There were two Thomas Nevins, living in Callaway County, Missouri, in 1850. Both of them were born in Virginia the same year. The 1850 Census record for Isabelle's father, Thomas Nevins, shows that her grandfather, John Nevins, also lived with the family at that time, but her mother's name is not on the record. The Find A Grave record for Thomas Nevins is for the other Thomas Nevins, though the same John Nevins is listed as his father. I will love it if somebody figures out this mystery.
