Mary, daughter of Alexander McGregor, married John Scurr on 24 January 1852 at Christ Church, Tynemouth, Northumberland, England.[1][2][3] In the 1861 census Mary (age 31) and John were in Chirton, Northumberland, England with four young children.[4] In the 1881 census Mary (age 51) and John were on Collingwood St, Chirton, Northumberland, England with seven of their children.[5]
Mary's death (age 57) was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1886 in the Tynemouth district, Northumberland, England.[6]
Research Notes
Mary's name was recorded as Mary Nevins or Mary Nevins Scurr at the time of the christening of some of her children[7][8][9][10] Her middle initial was transcribed as M or N in the census returns, supporting her middle name being Nevins. Her father's name was Alexander, on her wedding record (see above), so seems little doubt that her LNAB was McGregor. Humphrey-6461 20:18, 12 July 2023 (UTC)
