In 1849 she married Norman A. Maynard, emigrating to Wisconsin the following year, locating in the farming country of Bloomfield, experiencing in common with other settlers the trials incident to the pioneer until 1861, when her husband died leaving her with four little children. She then moved to Lake Geneva, where her children were reared to manhood and womanhood. In 1873 she became the wife of Mr. Andrew Ferguson and tenderly cared for him in his declining health until his death, which occurred in 1882. In 1885 she was united in marriage to Mr. E. C. Matteson, who survives her. She lived to see her children in homes of their own. They are, Mrs. Robert Gifford, Broadgate, Iowa; Mrs. John Hoffman, Bloomfield; Chas. Maynard, Chicago; Mrs. Chas. Walters, of this city. For many years she has been a follower of our Divine Master. The funeral services were held at the Episcopal Church, Rev. W. W. Raymond, officiating.
