COLORADO GENEALOGIST VOL. VIII #4, Oct. 1947, page 110 GEORGE NEWBROUGH, early settler of Blakely Mills, Colorado. Source; Penrose Public Library, Colorado Springs, Co. book; THROUGH THE YEARS AT MONUMENT CO. by LUCILLE LAVELETT, JAMES NEWBROUGH; mentioned asson of IRWIN NEWBROUGH, and grand-son of GEORGE NEWBROUGH &great-grandson of DAVID McSHANE. MONUMENT cemetery record, 1867; Family of DAVID McSHANE started a ranch.DAVID McSHANE came to El Paso county, Colorado in 1867 and he and DAVE GUIRE and HENRY WALKER all settled the same district. In '69 Mr. McSHANE built a fort which now stands on the McSHANE ranch. The first post office was known as McSHANE RANCH.
