In 1860, James (17) was living in Township 4 S Range 2 E, Jefferson with his parents, Joseph (48) and Joseph (5); and Margaret Newbury (44), James H Newbury (16), Thomas B Newbury (14), William C Newbury (10), Mary E Newbury (7), and Andrew J Newbury (2). [2]
James (23) married Martha Adeline Clampet (24) (born about March 20, 1842 in Jefferson County, Illinois; daughter of William General Clampet and Eliza Jane (Dudley) Clampet) on March 22, 1866.[3] Their daughter was Zora Francis Newbury (1870–1961).
In 1870, James (27) was living in Township 3 Range 1, Jefferson with his wife, Martha Newberry (27); and James Newberry (26), Seleda Newberry (3), and Margaret Newberry (undefined). [4]
