Fredwin was born in 1849. He is the son of Edwin Newby and Rebecca Richards.

Arrrived Australia about 1852 with parents & brothers

Wellington Times 8/9/1932. P2. Mr Frederick William Newby passed away at Wellington Hospital on Tuesday morning,Age 83,He was Born in London and came to Australia 76 years ago,first settling at St Kilda Victoria,Later he came to this state and settled in the west,where he has been for the past 50 years.In the early years he followed carrying taking loads of wool to various parts. A staunch supporter of Salvation Army & second oldest member for the past 40 years.He was of a kind & loving nature always ready to lend a helping hand.Of later years his health began to fail & only last Thursday he became seriously ill,despite the best of care his life’s race was run and he passed away 8 P.M. Tuesday morning. Survived by a wife & grown up family, Mr Wilfred Newby is a son. Mr Walter Jones & Mrs McMillian Are step Children. Mr Thomas Newby is a brother,Mr E Bishop a step brother Mrs A.R. Coupland & Mrs Pearson are Sisters. Buried Salvation Army Section Wellington Cemetery...
