How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile.
Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes sources and how to enter sources.
Family Search and Find a Grave are free websites for finding sources:

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Thank you for the note! I see you added a surname tag and comment and have been confirmed. That's great!
Your next step is to read and agree to the WikiTree Honor Code. Our Honor Code is a very important part of why our community is such a friendly place to grow your family tree so please take some time to read it.

You are now a confirmed member, and you can get started adding your family members. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree.
Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.
Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.
You can also meet some of our members by joining in the fun with our Question of the Week in the G2G forum: Have you found any unusual occupations in your family tree?

You can create a tag for each of your surnames and locations. (Up to 20 tags are allowed) by heading over to your Special Following page.
Have a look at my profile page by clicking my name above this comment to see what tags look like.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Enjoy WikiTree! :-)
David
I see you are Volunteering. Could you add some TAGs to show what you are interested in with genealgoy?
Use the Tags and comments to tell us about your genealogical interests.
Once you do that then I'll be happy to confirm you to start adding to your tree. :)
Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Michelle~ WikiTree Mentor
