Joseph was born in 1781 to Joseph Newcomb and Catherine Rand. He married Ruth Lyons Dec. 15, 1804 and they had 8 children (see below). Joseph died at age 95 in 1876 and is buried at Pereau Cemetery, Pereaux, Kings County, Nova Scotia.
