Elizabeth Newell was born about 1749 in the State of of Delaware. Here parents were William Newell and Sarah Warren. Her Father's will mentions Elizabeth's Name: Dated: 20 Feb 1748/09 • Newell, William. Yeoman. Will (copy). Made Feb. 20, 1748/9. Heirs:

  • wife Sarah;
  • Daughters: Sarah, Louisa, Mary, ELIZABETH & Rachel
  • bro. Jno. Newell.
  • Exec'rs, wife & bro. Jno.
  • Wits., Zachariah Goforth, Sylvester Tompson, James Clayton.
  • Prob. March 4, 1748. Arch. vol. A37, pages 199-201. Reg. of Wills, Liber I, folios 258-259. Note:—Arch. vol. A37, page 200, shows Sarah, the widow, later married Thomas Coe; will mentions bro. Thomas, dec'd.

On the 15th of March in Kent County, Delaware, Elizabeth Newell married William Manlove, Jr. II. Together they had these children before she passed away on the 23 January 1786.
