She was his 2nd or 3rd wife, of apparently four. Note that David appears in the 1850 census with several children by his 1st wife, but Emaranda is not included -- though they had married less than a year earlier. Had she died, or were they already separated? No divorce record has been found, and no death record for her.

Buried: Wythe Presbyterian Cemetery, Hancock County, Illinois.[1]
