Biography
Paul Francis Newey , 88, died Sunday, Sept. 4 at Acacia Park Nursing and Rehab, Modesto.
He was born in Newton, Mass. to the late Arthur and Minnie Newey .
Mr. Newey served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. He came to Oakdale in 1950 and returned to Massachusetts after three years to work on the chicken farm and for the family businesses as a mechanic.
He settled in Modesto in 1987 and volunteered at the Neighborhood Manor publishing their monthly newsletters. He also drove the Meals on Wheels truck.
He loved to play the piano, and enjoyed being around his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Sesser of Sacramento, and Elinor Fisher of Cape Cod, Mass.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Neighborhood Manor, Modesto.
