Elfreda was born in 1941. She was the daughter of Selby Newhook and Elsie Smith. She passed away in 2007.

Obituary

NEWHOOK, Elfreda E. February 1, 1941-November 11, 2007 — Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital after a brief illness on Sunday, November 11th, 2007, Elfreda Newhook of New Harbour, aged 66 years. Predeceased by her father, Selby Newhook (1958) and sister Elizabeth Seymour (1999). Leaving to mourn with precious memories: her mother Elsie Thorne; brothers; Ted (Leona), Norm (Marie), Duke (Leslie); sisters: Clarice Power (Jack), Hilda Speenburg (George, deceased) and brother-in-law, Edwin Seymour. Also lovingly remembered by a number of nephews, nieces other relatives and many friends, especially her Dart and Bingo friends. Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, on Tuesday, November 13th from 2–4 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, New Harbour on Wednesday November 14th at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Augustine’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully declined, donations in her memory may be made to Daffodil place, St. John’s.
