DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Cynthia by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Cynthia:

Hi Cynthia, number of profiles you created are duplicates. See below. Please don't create additional duplicates before these are merged.

In order to make the merge process happen, you should click "approve" on all the proposed merges.

Hi Cynthia, I proposed merges for a number of your duplicate profiles. As I was working on them, I added sources to several. If you need guidance on what sources are, why they are required at Wikitree, and how to use them, there is some very good help here:

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:How_to_Get_Started_with_Genealogy#Begin_Your_Search

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:How_to_Get_Started_with_Genealogy#Source.2C_Source.2C_Source

I would definitely recommend FamilySearch as a (free) place to check for birth, death and marriage records.

Hi Brad, I have not spent much time on wiki Tree lately but certainly interested in proposed merges. Also thanks for the links which I will check out. I have trees on My Heritage and Ancestry which I enjoyed using but can not really afford to continue. I found WikiTree difficult in comparison . Thank you for the help. I'm hoping to get back to it soon.
Hi Cynthia, when you have time to get back to it, let me know. If you're interested in learning more about sources and biography writing, the Canada project will soon be starting a course (an at-your-own-pace program) in how to use sources, and lots of cool WikiTree features, called "The Orphan Trail". If you follow tags like Canada, or Nova Scotia, you'll probably get a notice.

WikiTree can be tricky, and it's a little different from Ancestry or My Heritage, because it's a shared tree that's really focussed on documenting and evidence. And it's really important that every person in the tree has a single profile. You don't have to do anything about the proposed merges. If no one objects, in 30 days they will be automatically approved and someone will come in and complete them, and clean them up.

Cheers! Brad

Hi Cynthia, If you are planning to create pre-1700 profiles, please become pre-1700 certified. It's not appropriate to put dates like "before 1700" and then actual dates in the biography. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks! Kay
