Dick was born on 23 March 1876 in Tingha, Colony of New South Wales, died on 22 July 1954 in Inverell (R/D), New South Wales, Australia at age 78, and was buried in Unsectarian Cemetery, Tingha, New South Wales, Australia.
They had seven children: James Francis ("Mick", "Jim"), Stanley Richard ("Pat"), Elsie Clare, Gladys Victoria, George Wilfred, Allan Fielding, and Zora Isabel.
