Biography
Josiah was born in 1703. He was the son of Benjamin Newland and Sarah Leonard. He passed away in 1766.
Research Notes
Numerous trees have perpetuated the belief that the parents of Josiah Newland were Benjamin Newland and Sarah Leonard. However, no sources can be found and the only Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records that can be found shows the marriage of a Jemima Newland to Ephraim Grover and not Josiah's birth. They have been removed as parents until proper sources can be found but their links are left here as a reference for further research.
Also, there was a Josiah Newland married to an Easter who died on 15 Aug 1766 in Norton, Bristol, Massachusetts.[1]
