An extra piece of evidence worth noting has been recited on the "teachergenealogist" website by Rodney Bond:[6] 6/1273 in co. York, Bond by Sir Jordan Folyot to Adam de Novo Mercato, son of Sir Adam de Novo Mercato, for 20 marks to be paid within 6 years at the manor of the said Sir Adam in the form specified. (S) Ancient Deeds, V4, 1902. (Note that the elder Adam was son of John, not Adam.)
As her parent's date of marriage is not known except that it was prior to 1263, it is difficult to guage the date of Marjorie's birth. That her father died on 20 Jan 1302/3 puts her birth prior to 10 Nov 1303. Were one to assume the marriage was as late as 1262 and the mother was the youngest age allowed for brides, the mother's year of birth would have been 1250 and having children after age 47 being quite rare one can be confident that Marjorie was born before 1297. That she and her husband were enfeoffed on 17 Sep 1299 puts her marriage at or before that date placing her birth before 17 Sep 1287.[3] That her son Richard was born 25 Dec 1283 places her marriage before 9 Apr 1283 and her birth before 9 Apr 1271.

What is the latest thinking on Margery's parentage? The 2007 conversation cited above seems outdated now, as RA published six years later has Sir Adam de Newmarch as Margery's father, but does not indicate which Adam or Margery's mother. Any thoughts welcome!
I added the RA references and a RA reference to the marriage of her parents, which, by implication, identifies the mother. The research notes RE Cokayne's work have been converted to references with much of the outdated notes commented out rather than removed. The Marlyn Lewis reference FWIW has been corrected.
Lady Margery was born in Wormesley, West Riding, Yorkshire and married in c1281 same place, she died 18.4.1330 in Norfolk and was buried in Wendling Abbey, Wendling, Norfolk, England.
Her father with regard to Richardson was Adam c1222 and Ravilious/Bond saying Adam c1230 (Cokayne and MedLands no use here), Richardson’s argument is that because Foliot/Mowbray were both born c1249 and thus Margery’s father was Adam the younger, I really believe his reasoning to be flawed and fully believe Ravilious/Bond have the greater case and that Adam/Elizabeth are Margery’s parents.
