Reeda was born in 1914 at Norma in Scott County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of William T. and Lucretia ( Hatfield ) Newport. She married Clovis Tyson Chambers on October 24, 1931 in Scott County. Reeda worked as a school teacher at Norma school for 50 years, She passed away at the Cookeville General Hospital in Putnam County, Tennessee on August 17, 2000.

CHAMBERS, REEDA 87, of Cookeville, formerly of Norma, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2000 at Cookeville General Hospital. Mrs. CHAMBERS was a member of Norma Baptist Church and was a devoted school teacher at Norma for 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, CLOVIS CHAMBERS; and her parents, WILLIAM and LUCRETIA NEWPORT. Survivors include two brothers, WILLIAM and BETHEL NEWPORT of Cookeville; several nieces and nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 19, at 2:30 p.m. in Martin Wilson Funeral Home chapel in LaFollette, with Rev. DALE G. SMITH officiating. Interment was in Campbell Memorial Gardens.
