Biography
Alda was born 16 Nov 1875 in Apple River, Jo Daviess, Illinois to Edwin Franklin Newton and Mellissa Josephine Robbins Newton.[1]
She was married to Abraham Lincoln Rickard on 27 Sep 1894 in Hall County, nebraska.[2] They had 3 children - Gladys, Virgil and Vera.[3]
On Sept 28, 1921 their daughter Gladys married Clifford Powers in Buffalo, Nebraska. That marriage record incudes both Alda and Abraham as parents.[4]
On 20 Jan 1935 her husband Abraham Lincoln Rickard died suddenly. his obituary mentioned seven children - Lloyd, Gladys, Mavis, Virgil, Glenn, Clyde and Vera. [5]
On Feb 24, 1941 in Grand Island, Nebraska their son Virgil married Nettie Jean von Trump. That marriage record incudes both Alda and Abraham as parents.[6]
She died 2 Mar 1940 in Alda, Nebraska and is buried at Alda Cemetery.[7]
