- Ernest's Death Notice reads:
- "NEWTON, Ernest John - September 21, 1963, at his residence, 17 Victoria Street, Epping, beloved husband of Ruby, and loved father of Dulcie (deceased), Verna (Mrs. Nelson, West Pennant Hills), Maxwell (Wallabadah), Russell (Epping), Daphne (Mrs. MacGregor, Dalmeny), Lindsay (Epping), Neville (Wagga), fond father-in-law of Stuart, Lottie, Helen, Alex, Joyce and Nancy and dear grandfather of their children, aged 78 years." After a Service at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Pembroke Street, Epping he was buried at Field of Mars, Ryde (Ang. Section A, Plot 505)
